PRE-PROCEDURE INFORMATION
All cosmetic tattooing procedures: permanent makeup / microblading / micropigmentation are a multi-session process. At least one touch-up visit is required before the work can be determined as complete. Touch-up visits should be scheduled at 4-6 weekly intervals, but not earlier than 4 weeks.
Right after procedure and during next 5-8 days the color intensity is significantly brighter and darker than what is expected for the outcome. The color will fade by up 40 % on eyebrow, 20-30% on eyeliner and up to 60% on lips as it heals.
Keep in mind that chosen tone of color for tattooing may look a little different under your skin. Inserted color is constant, but it combines with your own skin pigment - melanin. Your own skin color is also vary depending on circulatory changes, when it is exposed to cold, heat, sun or even taken medicine. To correct the color is not difficult though. That would be a part of Touch-up procedure, if needed.
Since cosmetic tattooing is an invasive procedure sensitive area may swell or redden. Eyebrow swelling is minor, eyeliner and lipliner swelling is moderate, full - lip coloring often causes pronounced swelling.
Arnica Montana may help reduce swelling and bruising. Antihistamines, such as Benadryl, may help some clients reduce swelling, also can help eyes not be so watery during eyeliner procedures (watery eyes can dilute the pigment that is being implanted) but should only be taken before the procedure with your healthcare provider’s approval!
Try to avoid taking any aspirin, aspirin-containing medications, ibuprofen, or other blood-thinning medications for some days before the procedure, it can cause bleeding and bruising, by that to impede pigment implantation. Never discontinue any prescribed medication, without first consulting your physician!
Refrain from the use of alcohol as it effects on blood coagulation also, do not have hot drinks like coffee some hours before the procedure, especially on lips.
You may consider taking Tylenol or another non-aspirin over-the-counter pain reliever approximately 40 minutes before the procedure, provided it is safe for you to use and according to your healthcare provider’s advice.
